Fees shown are taken from USCIS Form G-1055, edition 05/29/26, verified by hand on 2026-07-11. USCIS changes fees without notice — confirm your exact total at the official USCIS fee calculator before you file. Filing fees only: they exclude attorney fees, premium processing, and Department of State fees.

The fee is the small part of what a rejection costs

USCIS returns the filing fee when it rejects a package — it does not return the months you waited, and it does not pause a status gap or hold a priority date. FormGuard checks your completed form against the rejection reasons USCIS actually applies.

Why online and paper cost different amounts

USCIS discounts most forms by $50 when they are filed through an online account rather than mailed. Not every form or every filing category is eligible for online filing, and some — the reentry-permit version of I-131, for instance — are paper-only regardless. Each form page above shows both prices and any situation-specific fee recorded in the current schedule.

Fees change without much warning

USCIS revises the G-1055 schedule periodically, and the new fees take effect on a stated date rather than gradually. A package received with the old fee after the effective date is rejected. We track the edition this site is verified against and publish every change we detect — see the fee-change log.

Filing fees only — they do not include attorney fees, premium processing, or fees collected by the Department of State. USCIS updates this schedule frequently. Always confirm your exact total at the official USCIS fee calculator before you file. FormGuard is an independent service and is not affiliated with USCIS or the U.S. government.
